Siddharth is a PhD student in the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech specializing in Power Systems Engineering. He has strong research interests in renewable energy integration, smart microgrids, distributed generation and storage, game-theoretic applications, machine learning, optimization techniques, demand response, electricity market design, economic analysis, and energy policy. He is exploring problems related to the high penetration of PV in distribution grids and is currently being advised by Dr. Vassilis Kekatos.
Siddharth received his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, where he was the recipient of the Electrical Engineering Departmental Scholarship for 3 years. He recently received his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech and is now enrolled in the PhD program. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (State of Texas, License No. 115491) with 4+ years of electrical engineering design and construction administration experience and 2+ years of research experience related to electricity markets and renewable energy integration. He is seeking opportunities to work and collaborate with consulting firms, utilities, research laboratories and RTO/ISO’s.
